No one received the Bharat Ratna for 2013. The last awardee for Bharat Ratna was late Bhimsen Joshi who had won in 2008.

Padma Awards

Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri
Padma awards are for exceptional and distinguished service in any field including service rendered by Government servants.

Out of the total of 54 Padma award, 2 were the Padma Vibhushan awards, 10 were the Padma Bhushan awards and 42 were the Padma Shree awards.

The list of the winners was announced on 25 January 2013.

International Gandhi Peace Prize

This award is given to individuals and institutions for their contributions towards social, economic and political revolution through non-violence and Gandhian philosophy. The award carries Rs. 10 million in cash.

Former Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda has received the 2012 Mahatma Gandhi International Award for Peace and Reconciliation from the Gandhi Development Trust (GDT) in South Africa.

Indira Gandhi Peace Prize

The Indira Gandhi Prize or the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize or the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development is the prestigious award accorded annually by India to individuals or organizations in recognition of creative efforts toward promoting international peace, development and a new international economic order. The prize carries a cash award of 25 lakh Indian rupees

Pulitzer Prize

The Pulitzer is a U.S. award for achievements in newspaper and online journalism, literature, and musical composition. It was established in 1917 by provisions in the will of American (Hungarian-born) publisher Joseph Pulitzer, and is administered by Columbia University in New York City.Prizes are awarded yearly in twenty-one categories. Arjuna Awards	The Arjuna Award was instituted in 1961 as the highest national recognition of distinguished sportspersons. The awardee is given a bronze statuette of Arjuna, a scroll, and a cash prize along with a monogram, a blazer and a tie. During the year 1994, the amount of cash prize to the winner of the Ariuna Award was Rs. 50.000/ 241. Arjuna Awards for the year 1994 were Presented by the president of India to 8 outstanding sportspersons at Rashtrapati Bhawan on the 29th August, 1995.
Dronacharya Award	Dronacharya Award was instituted in 1985 to honour eminent coaches who have done outstanding and meritorious ‘work on consistent basis Every awardee is given a cash prize of Rs. 75,000/ alongwith a bronze statue of Dronacharya, a scroll, a suit, a blazer and a tie.
Dhyan Chand Award	Dhyan Chand Award is India’s highest award for lifetime achievement in sports and games, given by the Government of India.The award is named after the legendary Indian hockey player Dhyan Chand. The award was initiated in 2002. The award carries a cash prize of INR 5 lakh (500,000 rupees)
MAKA Award	The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Award is given primarily to the top overall winners in the Inter-University Tournaments, as these tournaments are a very much integral and important part of games and sports in the universities and colleges and they also play a very important role in supplying the talents to the country. They usually send their recommendation to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India each year.
Football Cup Competitions in India
Federation Cup	Abbreviated as the Fed cup, this is one of the knockout styled club football match, which is held in the nation every year. Starting from the year 1977, this is one of the most prestigious and important national level football match after the I – League. The winning club of this cup is provided with an opportunity to compete in the A. F. C. Cup or the Asian Football Confederation Cup where they are accompanied by the champion team of the I – League.
Durand Cup	Started in the year 1888 at Shimla by Mortimer Durand, the then Foreign Secretary of India, this tournament was suspended twice in between during the time of the world wars. Though, initially, it was held in Dagshai as a recreational event for the British troops, but later in 1940, the city of New Delhi became the permanent venue of the tournament.
Santosh Trophy	This is one of the annual football tournaments in India, where the state as well as the government institutions participate. The football team from the state of West Bengal was the 1st winner of this trophy. As of now, they even lead the list of the all-time winners with 31 titles.
Indian Super Cup	Contested between the winners of the Federation Cup and the I – League, this is a one-off yearly club football match in India. In case, the champions of the I – League becomes the Federation Cup winner, then the opposition is formed by the runners-up of the league. The winning team of this football tournament of India receives the shield whereas, the individual players receive winners’ medals.
I. F. A. Shield	Organized by the I. F. A. or the Indian Football Association, it is a yearly football competition. Started in the year 1893, this is the 4th oldest club football cup competition of the world.
