1. WORLD TOILET DAY OBSERVED ON 19 NOVEMBER
i. World Toilet Day was observed on 19 November across the world.
ii. The theme of the world toilet day was Sanitation and Nutrition.
iii. The main aim of the world toilet day is to raise awareness among the people in the world who don’t have access to a toilet.
iv. Indian government launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2 October 2014 to clean india and government is planning to spend 134000 crore rupees by 2019 to construct 11 crore 11 lakh toilets.

2. GLOBAL TERRORISM INDEX 2015 RELEASED BY INSTITUTE FOR ECONOMICS AND PEACE
i. Institute for Economics and Peace released Global Terrorism Index 2015.
ii. It is a summary of the impact of terrorism in 162 countries regarding lives lost, injuries, property damage and number of incidents.
iii. According to this report deaths from terrorism increased 80 percent in 2014 to the highest level ever.
iv. Iraq topped in list of terrorism and India was ranked sixth in the list.
v. Global Terrorism Index was launched by the Institute for Economics & Peace,it ranks countries by the impact of terrorist.

3.’ EK KADAM UNNATI KI AUR’ INITIATIVE LAUNCHED BY INTEL FROM TELANGANA
i. Intel India launched Ek Kadam Unnati Ki Aur initiative from Nadimpalle village in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana.
ii. The main of the programme is to promote digitalization in rural India.
iii. It will be implemented in 10 states across the country.

4. JUSTICE T. S. THAKUR APPOINTED AS THE NEW CHIEF JUSTICE OF INDIA
i. The President has appointed Justice Tirath Singh Thakur as the Chief Justice of India.
ii. President appoints new chief justice by exercising the powers given under article 124 of the Constitution of India,
iii. Justice Thakur is the 43rd Chief Justice of India.

5. UNION CABINET APPROVED GERMAN AS ADDITIONAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN KENDRIYA VIDYALAYAS
i. Union Cabinet gave its approval for German as additional foreign language in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
ii. German language will now be taught as an additional foreign language in KVs.
iii. It was agreed to support the respective programmes and efforts in India and Germany to broaden knowledge of each other’s languages in accordance with the National Policy of each country.

6. WADA SUSPENDS RUSSIAN ANTI-DOPING AGENCY
i. World Anti-Doping Agency has suspended Russia’s anti-doping agency.
ii. The decision had been taken after Russian anti doping agency had been implicated in the scandal and was accused of destroying samples requested for analysis by WADA.
iii. World Anti-Doping Agency is a foundation created through a collective initiative led by the International Olympic Committee established on 1999 in Lausanne, Switzerland, to fight against drugs in sports.

7. INDIAN CYCLISTS WON FIVE MEDALS IN TRACK ASIA CUP
i. Indian cyclists won five medals on the opening day of the Track Asia Cup in new delhi.
ii. The cyclists won one gold medal, three silver medals and one bronze medal in Track asia cup.
iii. Anu Chutia grabbed a silver medal in the 500m race in the junior women category
iv. Deborah grabbed a silver medal in new national record time of 35.77 seconds.
v. Junior women team of Anu Chutia and Rajesh Nayana won a gold medal in Team Sprint event.
vi. The women elite team of Deborah and Kezia Vargheese grabbed silver in Team Sprint.
vii. The trio of Emerson, Arkaprava Baul and Ranjith Singh grabbed one bronze in Team Sprint event in junior men category.
